Help Local Business

Launching in Navan, Co. Meath

Turn the payment moment into a five-star moment.

Put one small NFC tap point beside the till or inside the bill folder. Your customer taps, your Google review page opens, and they write the review on their own phone.

  • No subscription
  • No app
  • Setup included
  • Works on iPhone & Android

Tap. Review. Done.

The ask happens while the good experience is still fresh.

€39

Counter stand · one-off

Two payment moments. One easy ask.

Right place. Right time. One tap.

Asking later means chasing. A tap point makes the invitation visible exactly when your customer is already holding their phone.

01

At the till

Put the stand beside the card machine. When payment is done and the good experience is still fresh, one tap opens your Google review form.

For cafés, salons, shops, clinics and busy counters.

02

With the bill

Tuck a slim review card into the bill presenter. Your guest can tap while the table is being cleared or the card machine is on its way.

For restaurants, bars, hotels and table service.

Choose your tap point — from €25

No app. No typing. No awkward follow-up.

Why this matters

You're not worse. You're just harder to find.

When somebody in Navan searches “best breakfast near me”, Google leans heavily on how many reviews a place has and how recent they are. Two businesses of identical quality can sit pages apart for no reason other than one of them asked.

Most owners already ask. The problem was never the asking — it's the twelve seconds of searching after the customer says yes. That is the only gap this closes.

How it works

Three steps, and the fiddly one is ours.

Setup is included, not an upsell. We do the technical bit so nothing lands on you.

01

We link it to your listing

We find your Google Business Profile, point the tag at your review form, and test it on your own phone before we leave. You never touch a setting.

02

Your customer taps

Phone near the stand, screen on, and your review page opens in about a second. Every iPhone since the XR and effectively every Android. There is a QR code on the same plate for anything older.

03

They write it on their own phone

Which matters more than it sounds. Reviews typed on a shared shop tablet come from one device and one connection, and Google's spam systems filter them. Yours come from real accounts on real phones.

The hardware

A small object, built for a busy counter.

It has to survive spills, sit still when someone knocks it, and work for a customer who has never seen one before. That is the whole brief — and it is the reason there is no screen, no battery and no app.

On the counter

It sits at the till and gets out of the way.

Weighted so it stays where you put it, angled so a customer reads it standing up, and small enough that it is not competing with your card machine for space.

In the box

What actually turns up.

  1. The weighted stand

Assembled, printed and ready. Nothing to click together.

  2. An NFC tag, already linked

Pointed at your review form and tested on a phone before you get it.

  3. A QR code on the same face

For anything too old to tap. Same destination, same link.

  4. Your own short link

helplocalbusiness.ie/r/yourshop — printed on the card so you have it.

  5. One page on asking properly

The four sentences that actually get a review, and the ones that get you a warning from Google.

Handed over and set up in person around Navan. Posted anywhere else in Ireland.

Tap tracking

Every tag points at our link first — so taps get counted.

Most tags are burned straight to a Google URL, so nobody ever finds out whether the thing is being used. Ours take one hop first.

  1. Tap the tag
  2. helplocalbusiness.ie/r/…counted here
  3. Your review page
  • You can see whether it is actually being tapped.
  • We can change where it points — new listing, new location, seasonal offer — without touching the tag. Free, for as long as you have it.

Finish

Wipeable, and heavy enough to stay put.

  • Matte black

  • Deep green

  • Warm brass

A waterproof printed face over the tag, so a wet cloth across the counter does nothing to it. The base is weighted — it does not walk when someone leans on the till.

Ten or more? Kitting out a few sites?

Multi-location, franchise and custom plate runs get priced properly rather than multiplied by ten. Still one-off, still no subscription — tell us how many counters and where they are.

Price shown is the total you pay — we are not currently VAT registered. Prices are in euro and cover the tag, the setup visit and the one-page guide to asking for reviews without putting your listing at risk. Custom logo plates take about a week to make.

The part nobody else mentions

Half this industry is quietly selling you a suspension.

Plenty of review-tag sellers ship a “smart feedback filter” that sends four and five stars to Google and everyone else to a private form. Google calls that selectively soliciting positive reviews. It is against their policy, it is a misleading commercial practice under Irish consumer law, and when it is caught the business loses the reviews — sometimes the whole profile.

Google also tightened the rules again in 2026: staff review quotas and asking customers to mention a particular staff member are now explicitly banned too.

Every stand ships with a one-page sheet on how to ask for reviews without putting your listing at risk. It costs us nothing and it is the most useful thing in the box.

What we will not do

  • Filter customers so only the happy ones reach Google
  • Set your staff review targets, or run a leaderboard
  • Ask customers to name a staff member in their review
  • Suggest you offer a discount, a free coffee or a raffle entry
  • Sell you a shared shop tablet for people to type reviews on

What we do instead: make it effortless to ask everyone, and let the reviews fall where they fall.

Why trust us yet

No testimonials. Here's what we'll put in writing instead.

We're new. We haven't been going long enough to show you a wall of five-star quotes, and making them up would be the exact thing this page spends its time warning you about. So here is what you can actually hold us to from day one.

  • We turn up in person

We're in Navan. We deliver and set up around Meath ourselves, and the number on this site is answered by a person, not a form.

  • Setup is included, not an upsell

We find your Google listing, point the tag at your review form and test it on your own phone before we leave. You never touch a setting.

  • One payment, nothing to cancel

No subscription, no twelve-month term, no auto-renewal, no direct debit. There is no account, so there is nothing to catch you out in a year.

  • Thirty days to change your mind

If it doesn't do anything for you, post it back inside thirty days and we refund you, postage included. No questions with a script attached.

  • We will not build you review gating

No filter that quietly sends the happy customers to Google and everyone else to a private form. It breaks Google's policy, it's a misleading practice under Irish consumer law, and it can cost you the listing.

  • Reviews come from your customer's own phone

Not a shared shop tablet. Reviews typed on one device on one connection are exactly what Google's spam systems filter out — which is why we don't sell one.

  • Repointing is free, forever

Every tag points at a link we control, so if you move, rebrand or reclaim your listing we change the destination. You keep the same hardware and pay nothing.

Custom logo plates

The ones that look like they were always there.

A blank tag underneath, your branding printed on a waterproof face over the top. Same tap — but it sits on the counter like part of the fit-out rather than something bought online.

What's next

The stand is where we start, not where we stop.

Do one small thing well, prove it worked, then help with the next thing. Nothing here is bundled into the stand, nothing here is sold at the counter, and none of it is a subscription either.

  1. Websites

Fast, honest, works on a phone. There is state funding toward this for a lot of Meath businesses — see below.

  2. Getting found locally

Your Google Business Profile done properly: categories, hours, photos, and the questions people actually search for in your town.

  3. A chatbot that answers

For the twenty times a week someone asks your opening hours on Facebook at half eleven at night.

  4. Showing up in AI answers

More people ask ChatGPT for a recommendation than you'd think. Being the business it names is a new thing worth being good at.

There's state funding toward the website part.

Meath businesses trading six months or more, with ten or fewer staff, can often claim a Trading Online Voucher worth up to €2,500 toward a website. It doesn't cover everything and it isn't automatic, but it is real money and a lot of people who qualify never apply. We'll tell you straight whether you look eligible before you spend a euro with us.

Terms are set by your Local Enterprise Office and change between rounds — confirm the current criteria with LEO Meath before relying on it.

Questions

The ones we get asked at the counter.

Does the customer need an app?

No. Nothing to download and nothing to sign up for. They hold their phone near the stand with the screen on and your review page opens. Every iPhone from the XR onwards and effectively every Android made in the last several years.

What if they have an older phone?

There's a QR code on the same plate. It goes to exactly the same place, and Google explicitly permits asking customers to scan a QR code to leave a review.

Is this against Google's rules?

No — Google's own guidance says you can ask customers to visit a link or scan a QR code to leave a review. What is against the rules is filtering who gets asked, offering anything in exchange, setting staff review targets, or asking customers to name a particular staff member. We won't help you do any of those, and we'll send you a one-page sheet explaining where the line is.

Could this get me bad reviews?

It could get you honest ones. We won't build anything that screens customers before sending them to Google — that's review gating, it breaks Google's policy and Irish consumer law, and it can cost you your listing. If your rating is already good, more reviews almost always help. If it isn't, we'll tell you straight that this isn't the thing to fix first.

Can I offer people a discount for leaving one?

No, and we'd talk you out of it. Incentivising reviews is a strict prohibition with Google and a banned commercial practice under the Consumer Rights Act 2022. It's also the fastest way to lose the reviews you already have.

Do I need a Google Business Profile first?

You need one, but you probably already have one — most businesses do, even if they've never claimed it. If yours isn't claimed we'll sort that out with you when we set the stand up. No extra charge.

What if I move premises or change my listing?

Tell us and we'll repoint the tag, free. You won't need a new one — every tag we ship points at a link we control, so the destination can change without the physical thing ever being touched.

Is there a monthly fee?

No. You buy it once and you own it. There is nothing to cancel. If we build you something bigger later that's a separate conversation you're free to say no to.

How long does delivery take?

Around Navan and the nearby Meath towns we usually drop it in and set it up within a few days. Further afield it goes by tracked post. Custom logo plates take about a week to make.

Are you actually local?

Navan. We deliver and set up in person around Meath, and the number on this page is answered by a person.

Want one on your counter this week?

Tell us the name of your business and we'll look up where you stand on Google before we even reply. If we don't think this will help you, we'll say so.
